The New Mexico Rattler at Cliff's is a classic wooden roller coaster that travels 2,700 feet in about a minute and a half. There's only one straight-away on this coaster and it's the steep plunge at the very beginning that sets the pace for the rest of your trip. This ride will thrill you again and again.
As you enter the ride, choose a line for seat in a car at the front, the back, or anywhere in the middle.
The front seat has great views of the Sandia mountains and the rest of the park, but it seems as if you're suspended until the back cars make it over the crest. Move to the back and coaster is really flying as the front of the coaster pulls you over the crest.
If you haven't been rattled enough during the day, wait until after dark and try it again! This is as good as it gets without driving to Denver or San Antonio.
